In September, Comau is bringing its wearable technologies to two major European events dedicated to industrial technologies and occupational safety.
The first stop is SEPEM Industries Toulouse, taking place from September 22 to 24 at the MEETT complex (Booth A33), where Comau will connect with manufacturers, ergonomists, and HSE specialists to demonstrate how wearable devices ease the burden of heavy and repetitive tasks. Simultaneously, from September 23 to 26, Comau will participate in REHACARE in Düsseldorf. In collaboration with IUVO, MATE exoskeletons will be on display in Hall 1 / Booth G29 as part of the EXO PARK, organized alongside partners such as Fraunhofer IPA and the University of Stuttgart IFF.
At both events, visitors can explore the functions and benefits of the MATE range, developed to reduce musculoskeletal strain and prevent work-related injuries or conditions caused by repetitive tasks.
The MATE-XT GO model is a non-motorized passive exoskeleton—certified as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—designed to support upper limbs during overhead activities. Featuring a lightweight (approx. 3 kg), ergonomic, and breathable structure, it utilizes a carbon “T” spine line to transfer loads from the arms to the hips. Using the device delivers an average muscle exertion reduction of about 27%, ensuring greater comfort and boosting productivity.
Comau, active in the wearable robotics field for nearly a decade, has continuously evolved this technology toward slimmest-profile structures suitable even for complex, dusty, or outdoor work environments.
In Toulouse and Düsseldorf, it will be showcased alongside the MATE-XB model, specifically engineered to relieve lumbar strain during bending and lifting operations. Both solutions share a passive design, lightweight construction, and identical versatility across applications: originally developed for the automotive industry, they now meet the needs of diverse sectors ranging from logistics and construction to agriculture, restoration, and industrial cleaning. By integrating seamlessly into existing workflows, MATE technology offers a practical contribution to worker health protection in every operational setting.
