Comau and Automha showcase warehouse and intralogistics automation at CeMAT Asia 2026

November 5, Shanghai

CeMAT ASIA 2026 opens today at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, marking the first joint appearance of Comau and Automha at an industry exhibition in China since Comau’s acquisition of Automha. Both brands leverage an established presence in China and represent the expanding intralogistics footprint of the Comau Group, alongside Invent. Their participation brings together Automha’s expertise in intralogistics expertise and Comau’s capabilities in industrial robotics and automation, with solutions spanning automated storage and retrieval, palletizing and material handling.

Automha is showcasing Autosatmover, its flagship multi-deep automated pallet storage and retrieval system for high-density, high-throughput warehouses. The system uses a mother shuttle (Mover) to transport on-board satellite (Supercap) to designated aisles, where they independently retrieve and store pallets. Its modular configuration can be adapted to different warehouse layouts to maximize storage capacity.

Powered by supercapacitor, the satellite shuttle recharge rapidly when docked with the mother shuttle, helping minimize downtime associated with charging. The system also features predictive maintenance and operates in ambient temperatures from -30°C to +55°C. Its design supports efficient operations, high equipment availability and lower long-term operating costs, with features intended to simplify commissioning and maintenance.

At the software level, Automha’s proprietary warehouse management system (AWMS) manages material flows and task scheduling, with real-time operational monitoring. Its NOVA AI module combines retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with an engineering knowledge base and real-time operating data. Multiple specialized AI agents analyze this information to support equipment maintenance and warehouse operations. AWMS also interfaces with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and warehouse automation equipment, linking warehouse planning with equipment execution to improve coordination, flexibility and process visibility.

At the booth, Comau is demonstrating its NJ-40 industrial robot in palletizing applications. With a 40kg rated payload, the robot supports palletizing, depalletizing and material distribution, as well as applications such as packaging, inspection and machine tending. The demonstration highlights the role of industrial robotics in bridging manufacturing and intralogistics flows. Behind this physical automation lies Comau’s advanced digital foundation. The company’s broader portfolio includes the MI.RA family of intelligent vision recognition systems, AI-enabled technologies, and in.Grid, its proprietary digital platform for real-time production monitoring and optimization, enabling customers to scale from individual robotic handling cells to fully connected, smart manufacturing environments.

Comau is also presenting its MATE range of passive wearable exoskeletons for physically demanding logistics tasks. The MATE-XT GO supports the upper-limbs, while the MATE-XB provides lower-back support. Both operate without batteries and are designed to help reduce muscular strain during manual tasks such as truck unloading, sorting and warehouse handling.

As China’s manufacturing sector moves toward greater flexibility and intelligence, intralogistics plays an increasingly important role in connecting production with the broader supply chain,” said Francesco Allegra, CEO of Automha and Chief Operating Performance Officer at Comau. “By combining Automha’s expertise in automated storage and material handling with Comau’s strengths in robotics, software integration and local engineering, we can deliver integrated automation solutions that meet customers’ evolving needs in China and worldwide.”
