On September 29th, the headquarters of Renault Geely do Brasil (RGdB) hosted another successful edition of Comau Tech Day. Held in close partnership with RGdB’s Manufacturing and Procurement teams, the event highlighted our commitment to driving advancement and collaboration across the sector.
Now in its second edition, innovation served as the central pillar under the theme: “Technology driving the production of our vehicles.” The entire event scope was designed to strengthen synergy among commercial partners and explore new opportunities within the automotive industry.
Technical Content and Knowledge Tracks
The schedule featured a series of high-level presentations delivered by our partners, offering a deep dive into key industry trends.
The morning kicked off with opening remarks from Jean Rene, Process Engineering Director, and Fabiano Bortolli, Head of Indirect Purchasing Brazil, representing Renault Geely. Next, Gustavo d’Angelis, Head of South America at Comau, highlighted the strong, ongoing synergy between Renault and Comau since their first collaborative projects, while sharing insights into the exciting manufacturing challenges ahead.
Atlas Copco opened the technical track with a presentation on how Artificial Intelligence and Vision Systems help companies “get it right the first time.”
Next, AutoForm addressed “AI-Driven Digital Factory: The BiW Journey,” followed by Rockwell Automation, which shared key insights on energy management—focusing on curbing energy waste during vehicle production.
The afternoon sessions maintained the same high quality of discussion. Pepperl+Fuchs highlighted the future of the Powertrain Marriage process using AI, while GHPC presented strategies on reducing costs in new automotive projects without compromising performance.
The recently acquired company, Invent Smart Intralogistics, then challenged the audience with a thought-provoking session: “Automation doesn’t work — Does your operation really need automation or well-designed processes?” Closing the program on a high note, Comau presented “Machinery Safety Without Mystery: Applying NR-12 standards,” demonstrating how regulatory compliance can be practically transformed into tangible gains in productivity and safety.
