Comau presented its latest solutions in body assembly at the Changan Automobile Advanced Technology and Ecosystem Collaboration Exchange Conference

Shanghai, Oct 10, 2025

The “2025 Changan Automobile Advanced Technology and Ecosystem Collaboration Exchange Conference,” jointly organized by Changan and the Chongqing Automotive Engineering Society, was recently held at Changan’s Global R&D Center in Chongqing. The event focused on key areas including new energy, smart manufacturing, lightweighting, intelligent connectivity, and digitalization. It brought together industry and supply chain partners with the aim of enhancing collaboration in R&D and procurement and accelerating the deployment of new technologies.

Steve Zhu, Head of Sales Account Body Assembly APAC, representing Comau by delivering a presentation showcasing the company’s latest solutions in body welding automation.

Comau also introduced its newly developed high-speed conveyor for body-side assembly, which integrates servo motors, rack-and-pinion mechanisms, and magnetic drive technology. Applicable in both welding and final assembly shops, the system achieves production rates of up to 153 JPH, supporting annual capacities exceeding one million units. In addition, Comau presented its next-generation high-speed power roller bed, which replaces line-side fixtures with carrier fixtures. This approach simplifies line layouts, reduces fixture motion time, and enables greater efficiency and production stability.

These technologies reflect Comau’s integration expertise and modular design approach, supporting rapid reconfiguration and varied process layouts for new energy vehicle manufacturing. They also highlight Comau’s dual role as a system integrator and technology provider, offering customers the ability to adjust production capacity and process flows more independently within an increasingly open automation ecosystem.

By participating in this event, Comau shared its practical experience in body welding automation and explored future collaboration opportunities with Changan and other partners across the value chain. Looking ahead, the company will continue to leverage its global expertise and local capabilities to support Chinese OEMs in advancing innovation and strengthening manufacturing competitiveness.
