Comau’s e-Mobility solutions on display at the Battery Show Detroit: Innovation, Efficiency, and Flexibility for the American Market

Detroit (MI), October 6, 2025

Comau is participating in The Battery Show Detroit (October 6–9, Booth 211), North America’s leading event for battery and electric vehicle technologies, to showcase its most advanced solutions for e-Mobility. In doing so, Comau reaffirms its role as a global technology partner capable of supporting customers from lab-scale development to high-volume production.

At the Detroit-based show, Comau is presenting a new generation of scalable, future-ready technologies that address the evolving landscape of battery manufacturing and the challenges of this fast-changing market. The company’s significant investment in R&D has led to the development of proprietary, modular, and integrated solutions for cell formation (electrical activation) that reduce production footprints and the reliance on large dry rooms, helping to lower capital expenditure (CAPEX).

Comau is also introducing cutting-edge innovations in battery module and pack assembly, including the Cell to Pack Laser Welding Cell (LWC) developed in Southfield, Michigan. This turnkey system tackles one of the most complex battery manufacturing steps, busbar welding, and is engineered for exceptional welding quality thanks to a proprietary vision system. Comau’s LWC supports a wide range of module and pack sizes, including full EV packs, and is compatible with multiple cell formats, from cylindrical to prismatic.

Similarly, Comau’s growing collaboration with Intecells (Hall A-E – stand 5827), which was first announced at The Battery Show Europe in June, is being highlighted during the show. Together, the companies are developing a novel cold plasma-based solution to improve electrode manufacturing efficiency.

Comau’s booth will also feature experts from Automha, a leading Italian warehouse and intralogistics automation company recently acquired by Comau.

“Comau has a well-established presence in the American market and is involved in key industrial projects, with an increasing focus on electric mobility. Our presence at The Battery Show Detroit reflects our ongoing growth path and our ability to support American customers with increasingly innovative and efficient technologies.”

Laerte Scarpitta, Comau – Chief Americas Officer

Looking ahead, Comau will further reinforce its commitment to the battery sector at the Upcell Alliance event in Reno, with Giacomo Del Panta, Comau Chief Customer Management Officer and President of TOGETHER, in attendance. The Reno event will bring together international stakeholders to address the challenges and opportunities associated with the expansion of battery production, including machine manufacturers, automation solution providers, investors, institutional representatives, and innovation experts from both North America and Europe. During the conference, Mr. Del Panta will present Upcell Turnkey Solutions & TOGETHER, an open consortium promoted by Upcell Alliance that aims to develop customizable, end-to-end battery production lines and related infrastructure.

With near-term stops in Dubai and Stuttgart, and with Greater Noida (India) on the horizon, Comau is using the Battery Show platform to reaffirm its leadership in battery innovation and its strategic partnerships to accelerate the transition to efficient, sustainable e-Mobility.
