Comau ambassador for the “Ingenio al Femminile 2025” Award, which promotes the talents of recent graduates in STEM disciplines

Grugliasco, July 10, 2025

Enhancing the skills of female professionals with technical and scientific backgrounds is one of the goals of the DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) programs that Comau carries out in each of its locations, in Italy and around the world. This commitment is part of a broader path of cultural transformation that the company has been undertaking for some time, aimed at promoting a work environment that is increasingly inclusive, open to innovation and attentive to the enhancement of talent in all its forms.

To make it even more concrete, the company has chosen to support, as an Enterprise Ambassador, the 5th edition of the “Tesi di Laurea Ingenio al Femminile” Award, organized by the National Council of Engineers in collaboration with Cesop HR Consulting Company to promote female talent and professionalism in the field of engineering, in line with Goal 5 “Gender Equality” of the UN Agenda 2030.

The initiative is open to Italian recent graduates and doctoral candidates in engineering (Biomedical, Civil-Environmental, Industrial and Information Engineering) who have created their thesis on a challenging and highly topical theme: “Artificial Intelligence for the New Challenges of 2050.”

Specifically, the candidates’ papers must investigate the role of AI as a factor in social and employment transformation, for environmental sustainability and the management of digital infrastructure and big data, proposing solutions that aim at the common good, analyzing risks and opportunities of this new technology. Up for grabs is a financial award for the winner of each degree address and, for all participants, a mention in a database available to Human Resources of the sponsoring companies, including Comau.

Three female professionals from Comau’s Italian team were chosen to share their work experience, telling why female qualities, combined with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills, are strategic success factors for a company with a global reach. Comau’s Ambassadors are, for the Human Resources area, Valeria Ricotta, Employee Experience Director and DEI Manager, together with her colleagues Elena Domenica Marra, System Simulation Engineering Manager, within Comau’s Global Competence Center, and Beatrice Marinoni, Site & Commissioning Processes Support, who is in charge of managing business processes aimed at the final optimization of Comau’s plants worldwide.

Valeria Ricotta, who is a member of the Gender Equality Commission and serves as Comau’s Employee Experience Director and DEI Manager, said

“Joining the Ingenio al Femminile Award reinforces Comau’s commitment to an equitable STEM future. We want to attract female talent and fight stereotypes to ensure full innovation and excellence in our teams. With initiatives that bring women closer to STEM disciplines and promote inclusion and equal opportunity, we are actively working to counter gender stereotypes and ensure that more female talent can enrich our teams, fostering excellence and innovation.”
