Comau at the World Manufacturing Forum 2025: innovation and sustainability for the future of the manufacturing sector

Milan, November 13, 2025

Comau participated in the “World Manufacturing Forum 2025,” an international event held on November 13 and 14 in Milan, to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the sector and participate in a debate on technological innovations, strategies, and sustainable practices for the future of manufacturing.

As part of the forum, Stefania Ferrero, Chief Marketing and Solutions Portfolio Officer at Comau, joined the panel entitled “Combining Additive, Subtractive, and Hybrid Manufacturing Platforms for Value-Added and Resource-Efficiency”, illustrating Comau’s expertise in the manufacturing sector.

The round table highlighted the crucial role of hybrid manufacturing, a digital-first environment relying on advanced simulation and digital twins, AI driven path optimization, and a new generation of hybrid-skilled operators. These elements collectively amplify Comau’s innovation strengths in robotics, subtractive and additive technologies, motion control, and digital automation.

Another important topic addressed during the panel was artificial intelligence (AI) in robotics, aimed at improving performance, efficiency, and customization. Computer vision technologies, such as MI.RA, Comau’s family of advanced vision systems, is another way advanced technology can enable robots to interact effectively with their surroundings. Comau also applies AI to optimize its internal operational efficiency. Ms. Ferrero also discussed the value of the Academy, emphasizing the importance of innovation and advanced training to meet the technological and production challenges of the future.

With over 50 years of experience in the production of robots and machine tools, as well as in the design and implementation of complex projects around the world in numerous industrial sectors, Comau has developed consolidated know-how in welding and machining processes.

Comau technologies are also widely used in additive manufacturing, thanks in part to collaborations with various partner companies, including Roboze, CEAD, KraussMaffei Group, Titomic and Prima Additive. Ms. Ferrero also focused on market scenarios, such as heavy industry and unstructured production environments, where demand for automation is growing rapidly. In this context, Comau in collaboration with Fincantieri, has developed MR4WELD, a mobile robotic welding solution used by Fincantieri in its shipyards.

In a constantly evolving sector such as manufacturing, a multi-technology approach is essential to optimize processes, minimize waste, and increase flexibility. Our solutions, which integrate AI and collaborative robotic systems, promote innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness on a global scale, always keeping the individual in , as expressed in our payoff ‘Our Tech Speaks Human’.
