Grugliasco (Turin), September 22, 2025
Promoting professional growth by focusing on the development of cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary skills is one of Comau’s objectives. The company sees people as the driving force behind the ingenuity and creativity that have enabled it to design advanced and innovative industrial solutions for over 50 years.
This is why Comau has chosen to join, as the first corporate ambassador, the MEsp@rt project, which aims to leverage the knowledge acquired in competitive sports for success in the workplace. The initiative is coordinated by Sport Innovation Hub, an APS association that has been promoting social and professional inclusion through sport since 2018, with the collaboration of CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee), a broad public-private partnership, and support from the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation.
The agreement formalizing Comau’s participation in the MEsp@rt network was signed at Comau’s Grugliasco headquarters by the company’s CEO Pietro Gorlier and Gianni Lanfranco, President of Sport Innovation Hub, former Olympic volleyball player, and entrepreneur. Through this initiative, Comau intends to focus particular attention on the values conveyed by sport and the positive role they can play within a large company. This is why it enthusiastically participates in the Agnelli Trophy, a sporting event established in 1928, and continuously promotes recreational and sporting initiatives aimed at strengthening interaction and team spirit among its employees around the world.
Thanks to the MEsp@rt project, athletes, former athletes, volunteers, and operators in the sector are accompanied on a journey of discovery, reconfirming the potential developed during their sporting careers, with the aim of obtaining micro-credentials, titles defined by the European Commission’s “Competence Frameworks” for non-formal and informal learning. A comprehensive guidance, orientation, and training program was launched in Piedmont on an experimental basis at the beginning of 2025, involving an initial group of 20 beneficiaries aged between 16 and 50. By the end of 2026, the program is expected to have 60 or more participants, who will be introduced to or reintegrated into the world of work. MEsp@rt is also a distinctive brand that associations, sports clubs, and companies such as Comau can display to support the project’s objectives and share their commitment to retraining programs that integrate sports experience into the national educational and employment landscape.

“The personal skills that competitive sports allow you to develop and consolidate are an essential resource for effectively tackling many professional challenges. Think, for example, of teamwork, the ability to concentrate and work towards goals, to make sacrifices, and to show resilience. This is why we have decided to support the MEsp@rt project and its objectives. We are convinced that sport is an important training ground for life, capable of forging skills that are indispensable for personal, professional, and social growth.”
Pietro Gorlier
Chief Executive Officer at Comau

“MEsp@rt aims to celebrate the contribution that sports can make to individual health and well-being, as well as to the professional and social development of athletes and former athletes. We welcome Comau to our network, which we hope will continue to grow with contributions from representatives of the sporting world and the business world, where our professionals can bring unique and valuable knowledge.”
