PMF – Project Management Fundamentals

This course is designed for practitioners who have to manage projects or a part of projects with team leading responsibilities. If you are a project team member with no leading responsibilities you might consider the alternative course of Project Management Essentials (PME).

Duration: 3 days

Credits: 21 PDU’s (Professional Development Units) or contact hours

Goal: The course is intended to enhance proficiency in applying Project Management processes and practices over the project life cycle. It focuses on defining, implementing, managing, leading, monitoring, controlling projects or a part of projects. The course is based on “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), Project Management Institute, Inc.” perfotmance domains. PMBOK is a registered mark of the Project Management Institute, Inc.


  • Understand the project environment
  • Perform tasks that demonstrate an understanding of the project life cycle using PM best practices and processes
  • Prepare and/or analyze a project charter
  • Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), a WBS dictionary, an Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS) and a Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM)
  • Develop a network diagram and a project schedule
  • Develop a project budget
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) and perform activities to control project scope, schedule and cost
  • Develop risk management plans and risk response plans
  • Understand the main differences between Waterfall and agile approaches for managing projects

The course is divided into 4 modules:

  • Project Management Framework and Project Integration Management
  • Project Scope Management
  • Project Time and Cost Management
  • Project Risk Management

The participants practice on a specific business case, that simulates the real professional environment.
