At the Pack Design and Manufacturing Technology Forum, Eric Kai, Head of Sales Account Powertrain & Electrification APAC, delivered a keynote on \u201cComau\u2019s Technological Applications Across the Battery Value Chain\u201d. As the battery industry evolves, manufacturers face growing demands for efficiency, flexibility, and scalability. Comau is addressing these challenges with fully automated solutions for cell formation, module and pack assembly, and battery tray integration. Its technology supports prismatic, cylindrical, and pouch battery formats, serving the needs of both electric vehicle and energy storage applications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Battery cell formation and testing, which involves multiple charge-discharge cycles to ensure optimal performance and lifespan, remains a critical step in the production process. Here, Comau\u2019s proprietary cell formation offer encompasses the core processes that transform assembled cells into stable, electrically charged batteries.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active at a worldwide level, Comau\u2019s global footprint allows the company to support customers in their industrialization journey by providing flexible, tailored cell formation and testing solutions for scales ranging from laboratory to Giga scale fabrication.<\/strong> Indeed, the company is collaborating with KI.SI. National Institute of Chemistry to develop and industrialize flexible machines for advanced cell formation and testing at varying working temperatures.
