Wright Museum of African American History&#8221; in Detroit recently and jointly organized by the British Consulate General Chicago and the Italian Consulate, Comau\u2019s Fabrizio Mina, Commercial Vice President North America, was invited to discuss Michigan\u2019s Green Mobility Innovation. With the dual focus on transport innovation and Michigan business and government, the event was attended by industry experts, political figures and special guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comau is leveraging its longstanding experience in automation systems to cover key elements of the electrification value chain, which includes developing innovative products and processes as well as flexible, modular engineering solutions. Its efforts to advance green energy deployment also extend beyond expertise in batteries, electrical motors and drive units. While these competencies are key to driving the mass production of electric vehicles, Comau feels that true decarbonization can only happen through an increased use of renewable energy and second-life strategies for automotive batteries. This is why the company\u2019s innovation roadmap looks to automate the end-to-end electrification supply chain with significant investments in the generation and storage of green energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydrogen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another important consideration is the role of near-shoring as a determinant for Zero Emission Vehicle deployment, as customers are demanding shorter lead times, cheaper solutions and increasing flexibility. Comau is acutely aware of the need to balance quality, costs and time when it comes to managing the electrification supply chain, and leverages its global structure to make everything everywhere. Similarly, the company\u2019s increased standardization of scalable and flexible electrification systems helps ensure faster time to market, better return on investment and tailored versatility in regard to adding new variants or product lines at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comau also addressed the fact that the localization of battery cell supply is becoming a significant growth area around the world. To fully support this trend, Comau continues to work with other companies, research organizations, universities and institutions in a collaborative effort to ensure faster and greener mobility deployment.
