Comau, together with its Taiwan partner PRO Machinery, is currently attending the Taipei International Industrial Automation Exhibition held in Nangang Exhibition Center from August 1 - 4. More than 800 exhibitors are gathered to discuss industrial automation solutions.
In this exhibition, many customers and media have already visited Comau’s booth, a very eye-catching area. Many Comau robotics solutions are being showcased, such as the educational robot e.DO, MATE - Muscular Aiding Tech Exoskeleton, and so on.e.DO is a modular, open-source, Industry 4.0-enabled “build-it-yourself” robot. Its hardware and software structure are designed to encourage advanced users to share applications, expand e.DO’s experience base and program new coding directly into the robot itself.
MATE is a lightweight, passive, portable upper-limb exoskeleton launched by Comau, thanks to its partnership with ÖSSUR (a leading non-invasive orthopedics company) and IUVO (a spin-off company of The BioRobotics Institute - Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna - specialized in wearable technologies). It was designed in close collaboration with factory workers in repetitive and labor-intensive work like car assembly, tool handling, transportation and so on to reduce the fatigue of workers’ shoulders and arms. MATE is ergonomic, naturally comfortable and highly breathable and it provides stable assistance in manual and repetitive operations to increase the quality and precision of the work and improve work quality and production efficiency.
