Comau took part in the Symposium organized by the European Joint Undertaking ECSEL on Digital Transformation

From June 19-20, the 2018 edition of the ECSEL JU Symposium - Shaping Digital Innovation – took place in the Docks Dome in Brussels; the event was organized by ECSEL Joint Undertaking. Comau attended with a speech by Ennio Chiatante, Comau Head of Digital Transformation Projects.

The ECSEL JU organization, formed by European Union companies and research institutions, is responsible for promoting international research and development projects in the field of ECS enabling technologies (Electronic Components and Systems), considered essential for the creation of Europe's competitive leadership in the digital economy era. During the symposium, experts, business managers and scholars had the opportunity to discuss current and future developments in the ECS sector in Europe and present the results of the ECSEL JU projects in progress and the basis for starting future collaborations.

Ennio Chiatante attended the first day - "How the Digital Transformation Will Change the World" (June 19) - dedicated to the presentation of emerging trends and new perspectives in the field of digital transformation. Specifically, he took part in the "New Horizons for the ECSEL JU Program" round table with a speech dedicated to robotics, intended as enabling technology for the ECS sector. The experience of Comau, a leading company in the field of industrial automation, in the development of innovative and easy-to-use technologies for digital manufacturing was presented to the participants; technologies include the man-machine collaboration in the company’s HUMANufacturing perspective, digital solutions for the smart factory, the industrial cobot AURA (Advanced Use Robotic Arm), and the new modular, open source e.DO robot (designed for the educational sector, consumer field and applications in light industry). Finally, Chiatante’s speech  focused on Comau’s participation in the Horizon 2020 program which, from 2015 to date, has seen the company involved in numerous European projects dedicated to the development of applications and products intended for many industrial sectors of key importance for Industry 4.0.
